Genlin Foundation always helps keep stray dogs, including the old, weak, and disabled dogs as charitable activities and deeply saddened for "Dog meat eating" festival. We feel that we need to do something more to save dogs, thus we set up "Treasure the Soul of Animals, Stop Eating Dogs" Campaign, targeting at China, South Korea and other countries which still have a festival of eating dogs, and encourage them to give up "eat dog meat" habits.
"Treasure the Soul of Animals, Stop Eating Dogs" Campaign is a grassroots movement, we will encounter a lot of resistance, and do not expect to achieve success in a short time, but at least we can convey the following message to the people who has the behavior of "eating dog meat" :
- Dog is human's companion, and we should respect their survival.
- Nurturing love to the next generation, and helps them to develop a healthy and harmonious society for animal and human.
- Reduce or prevent inhumane acts, such as slaughter and cooking etc., leading less cruelty to the dogs.
- Discard "eat dog meats" habits and assist to enhance the international status of the country to integrate with other civilized countries.
- Cultural development should strive for good traditional practices and those are unsuited to modern civilization should promptly be abandoned.
Genlin Foundation is hoping to recognize the supporters who take initiative to "Treasure the Soul of Animals, Stop Eating Dogs" Campaign. They may be individuals or organizations or groups. We can organize a coalition to form a force. If they want to organize any activities connected with the theme, we can discuss the feasibility of joint effort. Any cooperation can be considered, for example: school education, TV shows, celebrity appeal, dog documentary, literary lecture, story of the dogs and the owner election, etc.
